The SAA Drum Corps provides military drumming to accompany drills and parades. Dr. Owen Duggan is in charge of evaluating and training candidates, assisted by drum and bugle specialist 1SG (ret.) Ryan Pringle.
Required:
- Prompt and cooperative attendance during all 3 trials, days/times TBA.
- Good academic standing
- Marching and drumming skills (training included)
- Ability to execute simple rhythms while maintaining a steady beat/tempo.
- Top-notch military appearance and superior self management skills.
- Rehearsals Monday and Wednesdays during Seeley Block as well extra rehearsals as needed Mondays at 7:20.
Special positions available:
- Commander: Student who has shown strong leadership and has served previously in the Drum Corps
- Executive Officer: Student who has shown strong leadership skills in the military program
- Drum Major: Student who has shown strong playing and leadership skills.
