Women in Post Production PR List
In the male-dominated field of post production, women often have difficulty finding and taking advantage of opportunities that would raise their profile. Similarly to the biases and assumptions that keep women from thriving in the hiring and career pipelines, the people in charge just don't have women on their radar when they're programming an event or scheduling a podcast. For example, one of the most common responses to questioning an all male panel? "I don't know any women who are interested in doing this."
The Women in Post Production PR List is a tool we can use when discussing the importance of gender parity in covering post production news, staffing trade show booths and demo stages, or holding post production related panels. This is a list of women who are eager to share their knowledge and experiences with the world, who are talented and experienced, and who want to be known (or continue to be known) as the experts they are in their field. This list contains editors (sound or picture), engineers, assistants, technologists, executives, and every other role in the post production industry.
[Though this description refers to "men" and "women" in a binary sense, the creators understand the challenges that non-binary people and trans women have in gaining employment. This list is also open to those individuals. There is no subcategory for specific gender identification.]
Complete this form if you'd like to be added to the PR list. Your information is not exposed en masse like other lists. You'll be added to a MailChimp list I use to ping relevant groupings of women with potential opportunities. Occasionally I'll also send you an update or remind you to refresh your listing. You can always edit or remove your entry since it's linked to your Google account, or unsubscribe from MailChimp.
If you're a company or organization that would like to connect with women for potential opportunities on stage, in the classroom, on podcasts, or even as beta testers and advisory committees, email
ie. Editor, Post Production Supervisor, 1st Assistant Editor, etc.
