Brightspace Info Session (BIS)
Want to know why so many people advocating the use of D2L Brightspace, the learning management platform used at PCC? Instructors use this platform for a variety of reasons. For instance, instructors can store course documents, provide students with extra resources, release announcements, free up class time, and reduce time grading. There are mobile apps students can use to access content, too.

This informational session discusses the benefits of using Brightspace to enhance campus classes and provides a brief tour of an existing campus course site. It is also a great opportunity for instructors to learn more about the platform, convey concerns, ask questions, and get ideas!

Target audience: (Faculty and Staff unfamiliar with using a learning management system (Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas, Angel, etc).

This session listed below is scheduled for 30 min. You are welcome to schedule for some 1-1 assistance outside of the session times.

Workshop 1: Getting Started with Brightspace (W1)
A workshop session where you will choose one of your courses and create a basic course site. You will setup your Homepage, make a Welcome Announcement, learn how to email from D2L, and upload your course materials. You will need to come prepared with the the course files that you would like to upload (i.e., Syllabus/Calendar, readings, assignment descriptions, lecture slides/notes etc).

Target Audience: (Faculty/Staff unfamiliar with using D2L Brightspace and/or uncomfortable with using technology.)
Recommended: Workshop 0: D2L Brightspace Explained!

This session listed below is scheduled for 1.5 hours. You are welcome to schedule for some 1-1 assistance outside of the session times.
