BHS Marching Ensemble Registration 2025
Thank you for registering to be a part of our ensemble! Please read the following carefully with a parent present. any and all questions can be directed to the band director, Eli Simantel, at eli_simantel@beaverton.k12.or.us 

We can accept students entering 8th-12th grade within the Beaverton School District that live in the attendance boundary of Beaverton High School. Even if you attend another school (for example, ACMA), you can still participate as long as BHS is your home school. 

It is recommended that registering members have at least one year of dance or music experience, but not required. Everyone is welcome in the marching ensemble as long as they are willing to work hard. The season will kick off with Band Camp. 

Band Camp is a series of all-day rehearsals running August 4 - 8 and 11-15, culminating in a family and friends performance on the final Friday evening. The season will continue with regular rehearsals on Mondays, Wednesdays, and every other Thursday after school. We will perform at home varsity football games, and competitions on some Saturdays. The competitive season runs up to late October.

Marching Ensemble is a big time commitment and it is incredibly important that every member has excellent attendance. Sometimes it is difficult to juggle multiple commitments, the most important thing is that you communicate with me and your other coach/director/family so we can come to a compromise. Don't immediately write off participating in this ensemble just because you are also involved in other activities.

Do you have any health conditions, allergies, or learning disabilities you'd like us to know about?
In order to run our marching ensemble, we have to pay our staff, hire music and drill writers, repair and maintain equipment, register for competitions, pay for transportation, and feed our students. 

Each marching ensemble member must pay a fee of $450.00 to participate. If you are not able to pay the full fee at this time, please submit a $50.00 deposit before July 1st.  The remainder of the fee will be due on the first day of band camp.
