The Ada Group ~ for first daughters

The Ada group, is a mixed psychoeducational and processing group for first daughters from Black, Brown, Indigenous, and Asian families. Throughout my time as a psychologist, I've noticed several themes that that cut across cultures and family backgrounds with first daughters – high levels of anxiety, difficulty in caring for themselves, significant fears of failure, an overwhelming sense of duty, burnout and more. The role of being a first daughter oftentimes meant parentification and sacrificing their needs for the greater good. It meant loneliness even in the midst of being surrounded by people. The Ada group aims to give first daughters a place for healing connection through sharing their experiences, expressing their emotions, and learning skills to create the lives they desire; a life that tells them, they are more than their sacrifices.

This group runs on Tuesdays evenings 7 - 8:30pm for 8 weeks virtually. The cost is $65 per group session, self-pay. This will be a closed group, meaning once the number of people I am allowing is set and we begin, no one will be able to join until the next cycle of the group in the fall. To attend you must be a first daughter of a black, brown, indigenous, or asian family.

If you are interested in this group, please fill out the form below and I will schedule a 15 minute consultation with you.
