OMB Proposed Federal Funding Rule: Research Community Input

On May 29, 2026, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) issued a proposed rule that would amend key regulations governing federal research funding and operations. The proposal is currently open for public comment and the University plans to submit an institutional response before the July 13, 2026 due date. 

As we develop the University’s analysis and comment letter, we welcome input from the research community. Specific examples will be especially helpful, including how provisions in the proposed rule could affect research programs, collaborations, grant administration, scholarly activities, or the broader scientific enterprise. No individual contributor names will be included in the University's letter.

Please provide input by Wednesday, July 1 to ensure it is considered as part of the University’s review.
