UCC Border Convergence Immersion Experience
God loves beyond borders
In the United Church of Christ we are called to an extravagant welcome of all God’s children, no matter who they are or where they are on life’s journey. At a time when the politics of fear and hate are overwhelming the airwaves, people of faith are called to respond with love. Together we are working to build bridges, not walls.

Please come and join the October 7-10 Border Convergence in Nogales, Sonora/Arizona at the U.S./Mexico border. Together UCC congregations will join the School of Americas Watch, the Southwest Conference UCC, immigrants’ rights groups and interfaith partners to demand justice to address root causes of migration, justice at the border and justice for immigrants.

See more information here http://www.soaw.org/border/

The UCC is involved in the planning process and Rev. Dr. John Dorhauer will be present to participate in the interfaith service at the border. The Good Shepherd UCC (just 40 miles north of the border) has been involved in border justice issues for years and has ample experience hosting UCC congregations from across the country for border immersion experiences. If you would like to send representatives from your congregation, or an entire group, please get in touch with Nathan Watts Ministry Intern at the Good Shepherd UCC who will be helping organize delegations at wattsn1013@gmail.com and he can help you plan your delegation. For further questions you may also contact Rev. Noel Andersen at nandersen@cwsglobal.org.
