At Grange Grooming our top priority is always the health and welfare of your dog and other dogs entrusted to us for grooming. To that end and to enable us to give you and your dog the best possible service, we ask that you and all other owners entrusting their dogs to us agree to the following conditions and confirm your acceptance of them by signing this form.
• Your dog must be fit and healthy. If you are aware of any health or welfare issues, you must advise us when booking.
• We will consider accepting your dog for grooming if sick or elderly, provided that you understand and agree that grooming will be carried out entirely at your own risk.
• In the interests of the health of the dogs in our care, your dog must be vaccinated. We may ask you for written evidence that such vaccination is up to date. Should, however we agree to accept an unvaccinated dog for grooming we cannot be held responsible for the contraction of any disease or illness that could have been prevented had the dog been vaccinated.
• Also, for the health of the dogs in our care we advise that your dog has regular preventative flea treatment supplied by a vet or suitably qualified person. We cannot be held responsible for the contraction of ectoparasites.
• Should your dog become ill or be injured whilst in our care, we may seek the appropriate Veterinary advise. The expense of so doing and any medication supplied will be your responsibility unless it can be clearly shown that such illness or injury resulted from any act or neglect on our part. Whilst we will always exercise all proper skill, care and attention in grooming and looking after your dog it must be understood that all dogs are accepted by us at the owner’s risk.
• We will always do our best to give you as accurate an estimate as possible of the cost of grooming your dog. Such estimate will be based on an average dog of the breed and type. It must be appreciated, however, that some dogs may require additional and unforeseen work. This will be charged at an hourly rate which we will agree with you in advance. It may be necessary for you to bring your dog back at another time to complete the groom so not to inconvenience others.
• Grooming may expose pre-existing skin or other health problems for which we cannot be held responsible.
• The health and safety of our staff, visitors, other dogs and your dog in our care is important to us. We therefore reserve the right to refuse to groom any dog which is aggressive, disruptive or otherwise presents a risk to our staff, visitors, other dogs in our care or itself.
• We will inform you by telephone when your dog is ready, and we ask that you collect the dog within a reasonable time thereafter unless you have made a prior arrangement with us. If you do not do so we may charge you an additional dog-sitting fee.
• If we have tried unsuccessfully to contact you and we have become concerned that your dog has been abandoned, we will refer it to Stratford upon Avon Dog Warden or other relevant authority.
