Sustainable Southbury is asking for your participation and partnership in eliminating takeout containers made of black plastic or Styrofoam.

Plastic contains toxic chemicals, including carcinogens, neurotoxicants, and hormone disruptors that leach into our food and affect our health.
Styrofoam is not recyclable. Black plastic often cannot be recycled. Most takeout containers end up as single-use trash in our landfills and incinerators.
