2023 Scholarship Application
The League of Women Voters Newton (LWVN) is offering two $2,000 scholarships to students who... 
  • reside or attend school in Newton, MA
  • will graduate high school in 2023
  • intend to pursue post-high school education
Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to civic engagement, with a strong interest in promoting both the democratic process and positive solutions to public policy issues.

The scholarship winners will be highlighted on the LWVN website and will be invited to attend the LWVN Annual Meeting in June to introduce themselves to our membership.  The scholarship winners will also receive a year membership to the LWVN.  

LWVN will keep all applications confidential.

About The League of Women Voters Newton (LWVN)
The League of Women Voters of Newton (LWVN) is a nonpartisan political organization that encourages the informed and active participation of citizens in government.  It influences public policy through education and advocacy.

LWVN exemplifies the mission of the League of Women Voters US by educating Newton residents about various issues of interest to Newton citizens and voters, including local and state public policy matters which could lead to legislative actions and/or ballot initiatives. LWVN also conducts candidates forums for local, state and federal offices and evaluates and provides input to the City of Newton’s Community Preservation Committee on applications it receives for funding of community projects.

LWVN Scholarship will accept applications from January 2 until March 31 of the current academic year. Scholarships will be awarded in May of that same academic year. LWVN will keep all applications confidential.
