Marxist Institute for Research Summer Seminar Application

APPLICATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED

This is an application to attend the MIR Summer Seminar from August 23rd-27th, 2024, at Sagehen Field Research Station (about 20 miles north of Tahoe). Accepted students will receive full funding which will cover tuition, housing, food, and reimbursements for travel tickets/mileage for car travel (we strongly encourage car pooling and will help facilitate the logistics). Those admitted will be expected to be present for all five days of the seminar. Housing will be shared bunk-house style; we’ll cook collectively, and all meals will be vegetarian and vegan-friendly.

We expect to admit approximately 20 students to this year's seminar. Applications will be assessed by a committee composed of faculty representatives from each UC campus. The criteria for a successful application includes the fit of your dissertation project and research agenda with the broad aims of the MIR summer seminar.

APPLICATIONS ARE DUE JANUARY 22nd. LATE APPLICATIONS CANNOT BE ACCEPTED. For more info about summer seminar, visit https://www.marxistinstitute.org/summer-seminar/.
