As you have learned, the ski program is now being offered as an Afterschool Program. Here's what you need to know:
Fridays from January 5th through February 9th
Lessons begin at 4:15 pm
Pick Up time at the mountain is no later than 5:30 pm.
Bussing is available from PES and will cost $20 per child for the season. (This will offset the cost of the busses and the snack program at PES right after school.)
We are looking for volunteers!! (Volunteers ski and ride free)
Students may be picked up at school (by an adult) and go to the mountain to ski prior to their lesson. We will provide more details about supervision of these students as the program nears.
We have funds available to make sure all children who want to participate are able to do so. Please call the office for more information.
Ski registration is available on the Whaleback website - www.whaleback.com - by selecting "Plainfield" on the After School Programs page.
Lessons are available for all students. However, students in grades 5 to 8 who ski at level blue or black as determined during a ski test on the first day of the program, may opt out of lessons.
Skiers who are not "qualified" (blue or black level) to safely use the chairlift are required to have a lesson and will ski in the area with the magic carpet only until they are moved to level blue.
Please use the form below to indicate your child's intent to participate as well as their transportation needs. You do NOT need to complete the form if your child does NOT plan to participate.
