2019 Run for the Refuge Volunteer Sign Up
Thank you for your interest in helping with the 23rd annual Run for the Refuge! Below are the many activities that we need help with. Sign up for one, two, or many! Thank you!
The race will take place Sunday, July 14th, and both races (5k/10k) begin at 1 pm.
I would like to volunteer to help with:
BEFORE: marking the course (afternoon or evening on Saturday, July 13th)
BEFORE: race set up (help set up the finish line, snack tables, registration tables, etc before the race, 10:30 am- 1 pm race day)
DURING: water station (help runners and walkers stay hydrated during the race (12:30- 2:30 pm)
DURING: race day registration table (help runners register for race, 11:30am-1:15 pm)
DURING: race day registration bib and race packet pick up (hand out race-day registration packages to runners, 11:30 am- 1:15 pm)
DURING: timers (collect runner times and bib numbers, race day, 12:45-2:30 pm)
DURING: wrangler (ensure that runners remain the same order after they have passed the final line, 12:45-2:30 pm)
DURING: bib tag ripper (rips the tags off of the bibs and hands them to bib spindler (1-2:30 pm)
DURING: bib spindler (collect and "spindle" the bib tags after runners have crossed the finish line (1-2:30 pm)
DURING: be the polar bear! (help bring energy to the event by wearing our polar bear costume! (12:30-2:30 pm)
AFTER: race clean up (help clean up the finish line, snack tables, registration tables, etc, after the race (2-4 pm)
AFTER: course tear down (take down the course markers, after the event, 3 pm)
