All instruments will be assessed by a Cape Symphony orchestra musician or teaching artist before being accepted. Aesthetic damage (scratches, discoloration, etc.) is acceptable, but significant damage that affects the functionality of an instrument is not. If only minor repairs are needed, we may accept the donation on a case-by-case basis.
It is incredibly important that our students receive quality instruments so that they can practice and learn unhindered by their equipment!
Our primary focus is on orchestral instruments (as listed below), but we do occasionally accept donations of other instruments. Just use the "other" section to write in.
We also accept musical accessories, such as: strings, reeds, mouthpieces, instrument stands, mutes, bows, etc., all of which will be assessed as well. Our storage space is limited!
