The Los Angeles County Medi-Cal Doula Hub (The Doula Hub) is a collaborative effort between Frontline Doulas, the lead community agency for The Doula Hub, in partnership with Diversity Uplifts, Inc., and the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (Public Health). The Doula Hub will assure the new Medi-Cal doula benefit is accessible to both doulas and pregnant clients, with the ultimate hope that every pregnant/postpartum Medi-Cal participant in the County who desires the affirming support of a doula will be able to receive it.
Our mission is to educate, connect, and advocate for doulas, families and communities, so that any Medi-Cal beneficiary who desires the affirming support of full spectrum doula care, will be able to receive it.
This work brings birth justice to families that reside in the culturally diverse neighborhoods of LA County, uplifting the voices of the doulas and the families they serve.
- We Educate - by sharing information and innovative care approaches with doulas and families, and by guiding doulas in navigating this emerging professional workforce opportunity.
- We Connect - communities, families, caregivers, and providers to resources and the safe spaces needed to cultivate healthy perinatal ecosystems within LA County.
- We Advocate - for the doulas and the birthing families they serve to improve full spectrum birth and postpartum outcomes in L.A. County.
