The University of the Philippines Manila University Student Council (UPM USC) is the primary and highest representative institution of students at the University of the Philippines Manila. The UPM USC, with its long militant history of uniting with the masses, commits itself to the struggle advancing the democratic rights and welfare of the student

In line with the increasing number of examinations to be held this March before the reading break, the UPM USC, together with the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) and the Learning Resource Center (LRC), introduces to you Kapihan sa UP Manila which is a study space with various service offerings from the UPM USC.

Kapihan sa UP Manila shall provide students with free coffee and printing services on March 21 to 22 and March 25 to 26 (before the reading break) at the Learning Resource Center, Joaquin Gonzales Hall. The event shall run from 8 PM until 8 AM during the event period.

Guidelines for Kapihan sa UP Manila
  1. Walkins are allowed for as long as students register and show their UP ID or Form 5.

  2. Students are advised to bring their own utensils, tupperwares, cups, and even small pillows.

  3. Students shall not be allowed to leave the venue during curfew hours (9:00 PM to 5:00 AM), unless they have a buddy, a ride, or someone to fetch them on the way home. They shall be texted by the council to ensure that they arrived home safely.

  4. Students are advised to bring their own extension cords, adapters, pillows, etc. as the USC only has limited supply of these

  5. Do not leave valuables unattended. 

  6. Students may bring their own mobile hotspots/mobile data should they wish to do so. However, the UP Manila Wi-Fi shall be made available to them.

  7. Students may not eat in the study areas. An area shall be designated for eating of snacks. Only coffee and drinks shall be allowed inside the study halls, provided that students observe CLAYGO (Clean as you Go).

  8. Use headphones and maintain a quiet environment to ensure a conducive study atmosphere for everyone.

  9. Ordering of food via delivery apps and bringing in outside food is allowed. 

  10. No bringing in of alcoholic beverages and illegal substances
