Our L2L team is excited to introduce you to an amazing educational leadership opportunity designed to enhance your leadership skills, develop new perspectives of your school community, and join a network of leaders in education committed to using their talents and strengths to improve education. Applications are now open for the 2018 - 2019 Learn to Lead Leadership Program.
Application Process:Submission of this survey will serve as your application to this program. If you applied for the 2017 - 2018 year, and either did not accept the invitation at the time or were not chosen, you will need to reapply for a 2018 - 2019 cohort. Three cohorts will be selected from the pool of applicants this year. If selected, a registration link will be sent to you to enroll in the program. Once the program requirements are met, participants may earn a total of 6 license renewal credits with the Nevada Department of Education, converting to 30 contact units for the Clark County School District. The full tuition of $120 is due prior to the start of the cohort.
First Phase:The first phase of the L2L program will explore educator leadership through 5 topical modules including Framing the Context for Educator Leadership; Creating Ideas that Transform; Communicating to Advance Educator Leadership Work; Practicing Collaborative Leadership; and Advocating for a Transformed Profession. Phase One will total 45 hours of coursework with each module including face-to-face class meeting, web-based pre-and-post activities, webinars and online writing workshops.
Second Phase:Within the second phase of the L2L program, participants will further explore key leadership pathways and apply them to creating a capstone project that may be implemented in their classroom, school or district. Phase Two will total 45 hours of coursework with each module including face-to-face class meetings, web-based pre-and-post activities, peer workshops, and online writing workshops.
When selecting your cohort, please note that all face-to-face meetings are mandatory. The facilitator will work with you to ensure you get the most of your leadership program, but we require your full commitment to attend all scheduled meetings. A class member who misses a meeting, or any portion of a meeting in excess of one hour, for any reason, must submit a statement of explanation to their cohort facilitator. If approved, the class member has the option to make-up the session by attending the same module scheduled during another cohort (if available), or the class member may seek alternative arrangements with their cohort facilitator. The class member may participate in the showcase ceremony with his/her class at the end of the program, but will not receive the Learn to Lead certificate until all make-up sessions are completed.
Thank you again for investing your time and resources to enhance your leadership development to improve our educational community. We look forward to you joining the over 300 L2L alumni already in this program! Feel free to contact Jami Miller at 702-799-1010 x5345 or email@example.com should you have additional questions.
