Native Language(s) Determination Form
Dear International Students,

Many graduate students receive teaching appointments while pursuing their degrees (e.g., graduate teaching assistant, graduate instructor). Prior to receiving teaching appointments, students are required to attend the Graduate Teaching Orientation.

Missouri State Law has additional requirements for graduate students who did not receive their primary and secondary education in a nation or territory where English is not the only primary language.  The requirements include
(1) an assessment of the TA/GI's ability to communicate orally in English, and
(2) the successful completion of a cultural orientation in addition to GTO.
Please answer the following questions to help us determine whether a language assessment is required should you be offered a teaching appointment during your graduate program:

Thanks so much
