Join the APAMSA National Health Education Committee 2015-2016!

Guided by APAMSA's mission to address the unique health challenges of the Asian and Pacific Islander American (APIA) communities, the APAMSA National Health Education Committee will spread awareness of health disparities among Asian Americans, with a focus on South and Southeast Asian communities. Through research, education and advocacy, the Health Education Committee informs and advises APAMSA's other health initiatives and the APAMSA community at large. The Committee serves as a voice of authority on the prevalence, incidence, morbidity, and impact of diseases like Hepatitis B/C, diabetes, and cancer on South and Southeast Asian communities, as a part of APAMSA's national effort to expand its reach into the APIA community. Join the APAMSA National Health Education Committee and learn how you can get involved with medicine in your own community.

Committee Goals:
- Research health disparities among Asian Americans with a focus on South and Southeast Asia
- Work with other APAMSA health initiatives to strengthen National APAMSA health education materials
- Build a core network of APAMSA members to spearhead health education in the A&PI community
- Gain invaluable experience working with a national committee
