"It's Elementary" Pilot Teacher Application
The Oregon Coast STEM Hub seeks to recruit 10 coastal elementary (K-5) teachers to participate in a pilot project, "It's Elementary: Engineering and Innovation through Project Based Learning". Pilot teachers will be asked to implement four STEM experiences with their students that incorporate engineering and Design Thinking strategies. Participants will be asked to provide written feedback and take part in three online in-person meetings. All aspects of the pilot project will occur between November 2017 and May 2018. Teachers will receive a $500 stipend at the end of the project and reimbursement for up to $250 for classroom materials needed for implementation.

PARTICIPANT EXPECTATIONS:
* Read assigned research articles
* Participate in 3 online 1 hour meetings
* Implement four (4) STEM experiences with students, selected from a list of provided lesson plans
* Provide written feedback to facilitators using rubrics, surveys and other means to assess student engagement and learning
* Provide informal reflection on the successes and challenges of implementing STEM experiences

BENEFITS TO PARTICIPANTS:
* $500 stipend
* Reimbursement for up to $250 in classroom materials
* Support from a Community of Practice with peer teachers and STEM Hub facilitators
