CD2H: DREAM Challenge Submission Form
CD2H leverages the DREAM Challenges platform to encourage competitive innovation and crowd source solutions that address key biomedical questions. CTSA members have many opportunities to participate including submitting ideas, championing a Challenge, contributing data, joining a DREAM Challenge competition, or piloting a solution at their site. Submit your DREAM Challenge idea below.
Please summarize the purpose of the Challenge and what it intends to address.(2-3 sentences).
(2-3 paragraphs). What is current state of the field, identifying existing gold-standards or benchmarks.
A Challenge is often decomposed into 1 or more sub-challenges. Each sub-challenge must define the following:
1. The (sub)-challenge question.
2. How will the question be evaluated, i.e. what is the definition of ‘truth’, what form will truth predictions be made, and what metric will be used to compare predictions with ‘truth’.
3. The expected set of inputs on which predictions can be made.
Describe the desired and/or expected data sets that could be used within the challenge. Data can be simulated or ‘real’. For the latter, the following characteristics should be provided:
Brief description of the study generating the data as well as the type of data.
Size of data set, along with relevant distributions of the ‘truth’ variable of interest (e.g. # of cases vs controls).
Whether the data should be used for training and/or validation (the ‘truth’ variable for validation data must not be in the public domain and have had limited access by other parties).
Description of data governance, and access restrictions (if any).
Enumeration of groups and collaborators who may be involved in the operation of the Challenge, and role as a contributor for (a) data (b) modeling (c) domain expertise. What CTSAs will be involved and what will their roles be?
Description of the expected outcome of the challenge, and its potential impact on human health or disease. Benefit for the CTSA Program. (1 paragraph)
