Earth Building Workshop Application Form

Welcome to the Earth Building Workshop in Baja California Sur, co-hosted by Alexandra Cherot-Dalle, founder of Sanctuarium, and Savannah Fox, the co-founder of dOMe hOMe Retreat.

Dates: January 17-24, 2026.

LOCATION /

This immersive gathering takes place on a unique off-grid property in Baja California Sur, thoughtfully developed over the past decade by earth builder and designer Rysh Luz as a site for alternative building, land-based living, and creative experimentation. As the creator of the earthbag dOMe hOMe technology and co-founder of the retreat alongside his daughter Savannah, Rysh’s vision has helped shape the foundations of this place as a living laboratory for living successfully outside the cultural matrix.

INTENTION /

This woman-guided workshop is rooted in re-wilding, circular leadership, and collective creation. Together, we will explore what it means to build not only with earth, but with each other, through collaboration, and shared decision-making.

Rather than following a single predefined method, participants will be invited into a co-creative process. As a group, we will decide which earth-based structures we feel called to build, drawing from possibilities such as arches, benches, seating areas, elements of an outdoor kitchen, and potentially a temazcal-inspired sweat dome. The emphasis is on responsiveness; to the land, the available materials, the group, and what wants to emerge.

What we co-create will serve future residents and retreat groups; a lasting, living structure shaped by many hands.

FACILITATORS /

Alexandra will be guiding participants through the art of natural clay building and plastering, while weaving in her unique approach to sanctuary design, embodiment, and the connection between inner and outer spaces.

Savannah will be offering the re-wilding and wellness thread of this workshop, through slow, intentional moments in the garden, cooking nourishing and beautiful meals, and holding space for optional practices like yoga, dance, breathwork, and meditation. Supporting you in reconnecting with your body, the land, and your innate wildness.

WORKSHOP /

With decades of combined experience in natural building, land stewardship, and facilitation, we will be guiding you through three phases of the building process: from visioning and preparation, to hands-on construction, to integration and finishing.

This 7-day immersive experience invites a small group of participants to:

  • Learn hands-on earth building techniques, which may include earthbags, straw bale, cob, and adobe
  • Learn to mix and apply natural clay plaster
  • Participate in circular leadership and group decision-making around what we build and how we build it
  • Experience the art of living in rhythm with the land, off-grid, surrounded by the wild beauty of Baja California Sur, together with a conscious and intentional group.
