What Do We Owe Veterans?

Service connected disabilities have changed millions of lives over the course of American history. This survey explores what the wounds of war mean today for communities in our region.

Everyone's input is valued. The results will inform talk shows and a live television program, produced by Jefferson Public Radio and Southern Oregon Public Television, working in partnership with the VA SORCC. At its heart, the project asks how society can better support disabled Veterans.

Systems are in place to care for disabled Veterans and those systems work well.
Veterans should be guaranteed employment after discharge.
Veterans should be guaranteed income for life after discharge.
Veterans suffering strictly from psychological trauma can be rehabilitated, given the right care.
There should be a strict limit on the number of times a service member can be deployed.
Single parents should not be deployed on Active Duty.
Housing should be provided to Veterans who need it.
