UPDATE: We have received $230,000 in applications from Hurricane Helene's impact and expect more as Hurricane Milton hits Florida. We have more applications than we have funds for, currently. Feel free to submit an application either way and we will send funds if we get any more available! We’re in this together.

New Disabled South is a disability rights and disability justice organization working in 14 Southern states. Hurricane Helene caused a lot of damage in the South, and Hurricane Milton will cause even more in Florida. We are offering one-time payments to help people impacted by the storm. Funding is first-come, first-serve. This means that we will give one-time payments to people until we run out of funds.

We will give one-time payments to individuals and households:

- Individual: 1 person $150

- Household: 2 or more people at the same address $300

If you are in an area in the South that was impacted by Hurricane Helene or Hurricane Milton and you need emergency funds, please fill out this form.

We will be sending the money over Venmo or PayPal. The payment will come to you via email through a platform called Tremendous. Venmo is an app you can download onto your smart phone that lets you send and receive money.
