The Rural Youth Anti-Racism Storytelling gathering will occur October 13-15, 2023 at
Rundle’s Mission Retreat Centre near Pigeon Lake Alberta. There is no fee to attend. Participants will be supported with transportation, accommodations and food. Programming will start on Friday, October 13 after 4 pm and finish on Sunday, October 15 by 3 pm.
During this gathering, you will work with a team of other young people to
reflect on experiences of oppression and racism in the rural context, how it is unique from the urban context, and identify key messages and stories that can help educate our communities. We will build creative content and shape a new narrative that considers the experiences and perspectives of young rural Albertan people.
We are looking for young people ages 16-30 from rural communities in Alberta to participate.
Rundle’s Mission Retreat Centre has accessible bathrooms and guest rooms. We are happy to work together to make accommodations to support your participation. Please let us know in your application if you need ANYTHING.
Deadline to apply is September 5, 2023. If you require more information, please email us at info@jhcentre.org
