The Mount St. Helens Institute invites you to join us for education programs or facility rentals at the Science & Learning Center. The Science & Learning Center is an environmental learning center located on Coldwater Ridge approximately 10 miles from Mount St. Helens. This facility is used for education programs, event rentals and special events.
The Mount St. Helens Institute proudly operates the Science & Learning Center under a special use permit from the USFS Gifford Pinchot National Forest. The mission of the Mount St. Helens Institute is to advance understanding and stewardship of the earth through science, education and exploration of volcanic landscapes.

In order to make the volcano accessible to ALL youth from around the region, we offer reduced-rate and fee-waived programs for schools and youth groups that qualify. Additionally, we have a limited number of transportation subsidies for qualifying schools. Volcano Outdoor School for All is only possible through the support of our generous supporters, donors and members. Each school/group is evaluated individually, based on the needs of the group. To apply for a fee-waiver and/or transportation assistance, please complete the application in the next section. This application is for field trips during the 2020 calendar year.
