The purpose of this survey is to better understand how hydrogen sulfide (the “rotten egg” smell) affects the residents, businesses, and overall community of New London, Minnesota. For many years, the city of New London and surrounding area has experienced noticeable odors during the spring months, and we’d like to learn more about how this issue impacts daily life, community engagement, tourism, and local well-being.
All New London area residents and business owners are encouraged to complete the New London Area Hydrogen Sulfide Community Survey. The survey will remain open until February 15th at 11:59 p.m.
If you live in the New London and Burbank Townships, your feedback is essential. It will help us better understand the impact of hydrogen sulfide and results will guide future efforts to identify and implement effective mitigation strategies.
If you have any questions about this survey, the Hydrogen Sulfide Study, or hydrogen sulfide mitigation efforts, check out our website: New London Hydrogen Sulfide Survey and Study. For more information, please contact Erin Vruwink with the Middle Fork Crow River Watershed District at erin@mfcrow.org or 320-796-0888. Your honest feedback will help guide future efforts to identify and implement potential solutions. All responses will remain anonymous.
*Note: We’ve been made aware that some mailed surveys list an incorrect due date of January 25. Surveys are still being accepted by mail and online through February 15. Thank you for your understanding.
