The Chicago Sun-Times' 'right to be forgotten' initiative reflects an increased understanding of how some stories can have a lasting negative impact on someone's ability to move forward in their life. The problem is systemic, and we're committed to reviewing our coverage and considering its impact on our community.
If you’ve suffered from a past article about an arrest or accusation that later was disproved, dismissed or expunged, please use the form below to tell us about your case and request a review. Submissions should be completed by the person affected by the story.
You must include a link to the story, a reason for your request, documentation about what happened with the charges (if relevant) and contact information so we can reach you for more information.
We will review these requests monthly, with a quarterly panel to decide on more complicated requests that might fall outside the defined policy.
