Volunteering at MECCA:
MECCA, Materials Exchange Center for the Community Arts, is a 501(c)3 nonprofit based in Eugene since 1999. Our mission is to divert materials out of the waste stream and into our community’s creative endeavors. We are run mostly by volunteers and without them we would be unable to perform our vital role in Lane County.
MECCA values all volunteers and their skills. We aim to create a comfortable, active role for volunteers. We welcome your input and allow you to be pro-active and selective during your volunteer shifts at MECCA. Where do you see yourself at MECCA? How do you think you can best help us?
MECCA volunteers are an essential part of our family. Whether it’s taking in donations, organizing our fabric room, ringing up customers or making crafts with kids at our Saturday Kids Crafting Workshop, you’ll make friends and serve an important role in your community. Fellow volunteers have spoken of becoming more confident and discovering personal strengths during their time at MECCA. What are you hoping to get out of volunteering?
