Cultivate's "PIC in PEC" Application
Welcome to the first step towards being a part of this year's exciting Festival Players season. We assume you are here because you are passionate about the arts and most likely *Drama* & *Theatre*.

That's pretty awesome! We're pretty jazzed about it too.

PIC in PEC stands for PLAY INCUBATOR CAMP in PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY!

What is a play incubator camp? Well, PIC in PEC is a one of a kind play creation camp available to students from Grades 8 to 12. Whether you love acting, dancing, stage design, musical theatre or stage management, "PIC in PEC" has a way for you to grow as a young artist. And, just like a chicken incubates its eggs until they hatch, we will be working together to hatch some amazing ideas and assemble them as a play for an invited audience to see on stage at the Festival Players Studio Theatre. This work is also connected to some of the amazing music, food and art projects that make up Wellington Water Week this year.

At the end of our two week creation block, you and your collective of newfound friends and fellow artists will have created an original theatre piece inspired by Water Week and the communities that you call home. You will be a playwright and a performer with the Festival Players (Pfft...no big deal, right?!....Wrong!! HUGE deal!!).

SCHEDULE

PIC in PEC runs from Monday, August 12th to Saturday, August 24th.

Our proposed schedule is as follows (please note this may change slightly with Water Week events):

-Monday, August 12th to Friday, August 16th: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
-OPTIONAL: Weekend events from Water Week to be proposed
-Monday, August 19th to Friday, August 23rd: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
-REQUIRED PERFORMANCES: Saturday, August 24th: 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM & 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM
(Participants need to bring a brown bag dinner and lots of water)

APPLICATION PROCESS

Applicants are required to fill out this form as a statement of interest by May 31st, 2019. After the deadline there may be some email follow up from the Cultivate team (Brendon Allen and Amanda Merpaw) and once we have settled on the collective you will requested to submit the participation fee ($300 total per applicant for the two weeks).

Demand for this program will be high, so we will be promptly responding to applications and following up with next steps.

REQUIREMENTS

All applicants need to arrange their own daily transportation, as we do not arrange accommodations. Applicants will also be required to arrange for daily bag lunches and snacks.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

There is the possibility of applying for financial assistance for this experience. There is a few questions in the survey at the end to address, if you would like to be considered as a candidate for financial assistance for PIC in PEC.
