Screen The Documentary: She Wouldn’t Take Off Her Boots

The film, She Wouldn’t Take Off Her Boots, follows artist Victoria Milstein as she sculpts the monument of the same name. Film makers, Jenny Kaiser, producer, and Wilky Black, director, followed Milstein for close to three years as she transformed clay into her ultimate vision that now stands in LeBauer Park.

In addition to showing Milstein’s process, the film features three Holocaust surviors. They describe their own stories of survival.

“The film speaks to the bravery and courage of my mother Eva Weiner and Sofia Guralnik my aunt. In the middle of the horror of the Holocaust they were able to save the lives of their 4 and 5 year-old daughters. It is a great privilege for me to honor them,” said Shelly Weiner, Holocaust Survivor.
