1. OBJECTIVES

To foster and promote goodwill, comradeship, friendship and sportsmanship amongst SSC members.

2. GOVERNING RULES

All rules and regulations of SSC as stated herein, and the Singapore Bowling Federation (SBF) rules will apply. Only bowlers with valid SBF memberships will be eligible for SBF awards/sanction.

3. ELIGIBILITY

This Championship is open to all current SSC members who are 10 years old and above as of 29 December 2024.

4. ENTRY FEES

Closing date for registration: 22 December 2024

All entry fees are inclusive of game fee and will be debited to bowler’s SSC account.

The fees payable (inclusive of 9% GST)

Men Open Division : $60.00 (10 games)

Ladies Open Division : $60.00 (10 games)

Handicap : $60.00 (10 games)

Senior : $60.00 (10 Games)

5. REFUNDS

No refund will be allowed once the entry has been submitted and accepted.

6. MASTERS EVENT

a. Men’s Open Masters – 15 max

·Each player will roll off 10 games on Sunday, 29 December 2024 at 2.00pm.

b. Ladies’ Open Masters – 5 max

·Each player will roll off 10 games on Sunday, 29 December 2024 at 2.00pm.

c. Handicap Open Masters - 10 max

·Each player will roll off 10 games on Sunday, 29 December 2024 at 2.00pm.

d. Seniors Open Masters - 5 max

·Each player will roll off 10 games on Sunday, 29 December 2024 at 2.00pm.

7. PRIZES

Prizes will be awarded in accordance with the attached Prize List. All prizes are subject to change depending on the number of finalists.

8. REPORTING TIME

Reporting time is 30 minutes before scheduled time of event. Late reporting will result in disqualification.

The Bowling Centre’s clock shall be the official timepiece.

9. VERIFICATION OF SCORES

It is the responsibility of bowler to verify the correctness of each game by signing on the official result sheet which will be used as the official score or record. Once verified and signed, the scores shall stand unless otherwise decided by the Tournament Director. In the event, the official score sheet is not signed for any reason, the Tournament Director reserves the right to refuse or accept the score recorded. Correction of scores should only be done on the spot by appointed officials on duty.

10. TIE-BREAKER

In the event of a tie in any of the results, the bowler or team with the least difference between the highest and the lowest games bowled in the series (scratch score) will be declared the winner. Should there be a further tie, the least difference between the highest and the second lowest games bowled in the series (scratch score) shall apply and so on.

11. PACER

No pacers will be allowed throughout the Championship unless appointed by the Tournament Committee.

12. CHANGE IN ORDER OF BOWLING

No change in order of bowling is allowed. Failure to comply will lead to disqualification.

13. PRACTICE THROWS

The warm-up period will be 10 minutes.

14. BOWLING ON THE WRONG LANE

When only one player bowls on the wrong lane and the error is discovered before another player has bowled, a dead ball shall be declared, and the player will be required to re-bowl on the correct lane. When more than one player on the same team has bowled on the wrong lane, the frame is to be completed with adjustments and the next frame must be started on the correctly scheduled lane.

15. SLOW BOWLING

Bowlers preparing to step on the approach to deliver a ball shall have the following rights and obligations:

a. They may claim the right of way over a player moving to the approach or preparing to bowl on the lane immediately to their left.

b. They shall yield to a player moving to the approach or preparing to bowl on the lane immediately to their right.

c. Bowlers shall be ready to bowl when it is their turn and shall not delay their approach or delivery if the lanes immediately adjacent to them on both the right and left are clear.

If a bowler does not observe the rules spelt out above, the Tournament Director or the Official on duty shall warn him/her. For the third offence and each succeeding offence thereafter in any block of games, the bowler may be given a zero pinfall for that frame. (Block of games is defined as each attempt of MQ games and Masters Finals games.)

16. INTERRUPTED GAMES

The Tournament Director or the Official on duty may re-schedule the completion of a game to another pair of lanes when interrupted by equipment failure causing delay to the normal progress. An interrupted game shall resume from the point of interruption.

In the event that score of any game is lost/erased due to power failure, the bowler(s) concerned will be required to re-bowl that particular game when the power supply is resumed. However, all scores of completed game(s) that have been recorded on the master score sheet shall remain counted.

17. BOWLERS’ AREA

During the conduct of any event, only bowlers, officials on duty and bowling staff are allowed in the bowlers’ area.

18. EQUIPMENT

a. Bowling Ball

It is the bowler’s responsibility to ensure that all bowling balls used by him/her during the Championship are verified for specifications conforming to World Bowling Playing rules. The Tournament Committee reserves the right to examine the bowling balls used by the participants. Use of an illegal ball may result in disqualification and forfeiture of game, prizes and standings.

b. Bowling bags

To avoid any accident, bowlers are requested to place their bowling bags under the chair or against the locker wall.

c. Use of Powder

Use of powder other than sanctioned sliding powder is prohibited.

d. Disclaimer

SSC and the Tournament Committee will not be held responsible for any damage that may occur to competitor’s equipment in the Bowling Centre. They will also not be responsible for any personal belongings and any other effects left in the Bowling Centre.

19. DRESS CODE (BOWLER’S ATTIRE)

Bowlers are required to be properly and appropriately dressed for this tournament. If, in the opinion of the Tournament Committee, a bowler is not properly and appropriately dressed, he/she may not be permitted to bowl. Men may wear long pants or bermudas and T-shirts without collar. Women may wear skirts, pants, slacks or dress shorts and T-shirts. However, during the Finals, men must wear long pants or slacks and T-shirt with / without collar. Women may wear skirts, pants, slacks or dress shorts and T-shirts.

20. PROTESTS

Any protest affecting eligibility or playing rules must be submitted in writing to the Tournament Director within 24 hours of the alleged infringement.

Protests regarding errors in scoring must be brought to the attention of the Tournament Director or the Official on duty immediately.

Any protest received after prizes have been awarded will not be accepted.

The decision of the Tournament Director will be final, and no correspondence will be entertained.

21. INTERPRETATION CLAUSE

The Tournament Committee reserves the right to accept or reject any entry as it deems fit. Any matters arising that is not covered in this Tournament Rules & Regulations will be decided by the Tournament Committee in accordance with the existing playing rules of the SBF.

22. CHANGES TO THE RULES

The Tournament Committee reserves the right to make any changes to any of the above rules and regulations at any time during the Championship.

29. PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION ACT (PDPA)

Photography and audio and video recording may occur when you attend or participate in this event or activity. By entering the event premises, you and your guest(s), if any, consent to interview(s), photography, and audio and video recording, and its/their release, publication or reproduction for marketing and promotions purposes.
