Last year, Transistor Chicago partnered with the neighborhood Garden Walk to hold the first Art Walk; Providing local artists with a venue to showcase their pieces throughout the Roscoe Street corridor.  This year we are creating the TRANSISTOR Art Walk and are including more supportive businesses and even more fantastic artists of all kinds.

We have structured this one-day event with both the business and the artist in mind. With so many expensive events around the city, we want to keep this manageable and affordable for the artist and profitable for the business. The Art Walk is designed to help give exposure to the artist while increasing foot traffic (and in turn, business). 

Businesses who host an artist, either in front of and/or inside of their building, are not required to assist that particular artist. The artist will be responsible for setting-up, maintaining, and tearing down their space for the event. Having artists inside of the business AND outside the business, doubles our opportunity to bring more artists into our community. Artists will be assigned at the discretion of Transistor.  

If a business would like to participate in the Art Walk and already has a preselected artist for their location, that location and artist must both complete the required applications.  The artist will still be charged the fee for the event. 

Transistor is partnering closely with the Roscoe Village Chamber of Commerce to obtain the appropriate permits needed for the event.  They have agreed to help promote the event and those businesses who participate.
