We deliver programs to over 12,000 kids each year, most of whom are low income. We need your help to get these kids outside and connecting to the wild landscapes of Colorado!
Teaching Assistant Volunteers work alongside experienced Instructors and provide program support for a specific camp each week. TA positions are unpaid, volunteer positions, and are a great opportunity to gain leadership experience and explore the field of environmental education while building community and connecting to nature yourself. A full volunteer description is available at http://www.thornenature.org/get-involved/volunteer-intern/.
Teaching Assistants must be at least 16 years of age or older.
Student Teaching Assistants must be between 13-15 years old and students fall under Thorne's childcare license. In addition to completing the Volunteer Application, STA's must also fill out camper paperwork and register to be an STA in CampMinder.
Please complete the following application through Google Forms to become a Thorne Summer Camp Teaching Assistant at least two weeks before you hope to assist with Thorne Summer Camp. Please answer all of the required questions in the application. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Gwen at 303.499.3647 x103 or Gwen@ThorneNature.org.
NOTE: If you have already applied through the CampMinder system for a paid position at Thorne Summer Camp, or are already a current volunteer with Thorne, you do not need to complete this Volunteer Application. Instead, please email Gwen@thornenature.org to sign up to volunteer.
