Green Team Program Overview
Program Dates: August 1st - June 3
Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Pay: Paid, bi-weekly; starting at $9/hour
The Green Team Program offers part-time, paid opportunities for middle and high school students (ages 14-18) from Indianapolis to engage in hands-on community and environmental improvement projects throughout the Northwest Area of the city.
Participants will help lead local environmental initiatives, learn about urban farming, local food systems, and nutrition, and contribute to a variety of service-learning projects. These projects may include work focused on waterways, parks, green spaces, and neighborhood beautification.
The program is designed to increase awareness and understanding of the natural environment while empowering young people to become advocates for their communities. The Green Team has two core goals: to prepare youth for a lifetime of environmental and community leadership, and to strengthen community capacity to improve and protect the local environment.
