Brother's Backpacking Trip 2026

The Sports & Recreation committee is happy to announce it's third annual backpacking retreat that is meant for people of all skill levels! We will be venturing off into the backcountry of Western NC and spending the day trekking through rugged terrains and sleeping under a starry night sky. Witness the beauty of Allah SWT that surrounds us!

This event is geared specifically towards young adult males aged 21+ and has a limited number of spots.

Date: September 26-27, 2026 (1 night)

Location: Western NC

There will be multiple experienced backpackers that will be leading the group. Sports & Recreation director Ali Jaffry will be the primary lead on this event. Please email him at Ali.jaffry@islam1.org for any relevant questions.

The plan is to leave after Fajr on Saturday morning at IAR and return by Sunday afternoon. There will be multiple drivers and food will be determined prior to the trip. Food responsibilities will be divided among those that are going. Further information will be provided after registration in a WhatsApp group message.
