Workshop leader, screenwriter, and teacher Yásaman Madadi will teach about the basic components of screenwriting for a documentary or narrative short film. Upon completion of parts 1 and 2, you will create a completed fiction or non-fiction script.

SPOTS ARE LIMITED TO THE FIRST 20 STUDENTS TO RSVP!!! The remaining students will be placed on a waitlist.

RSVP to attend by Thursday, February 25!

Our mission for Workshops is to build community while supporting students in exploring new and creative ways to use writing to discover themselves, practice self-care, hone their storytelling skills, support college access, and apply their STEM abilities. The goal is to redefine student's relationship to writing so that it can be seen as a fun and useful tool, rather than an academic chore.

The GreenShorts environmental short film contest is a platform to showcase your ideas, commentary, and vision for our city and the world. You may submit one short film for each category. Films must be less than 3 minutes long — creative liberty is encouraged! Films are encouraged to feature the Southern California (or Louisiana for Louisiana student) area. Cash prizes are awarded to first, second, and third place!

The deadline to submit your film is April 23, 2021.
