CONNECTING & CONVENING:  Workforce centers connect businesses to the support they need to thrive, convene employer roundtables to seek shared solutions to common pain points, and help businesses create talent pipelines through resource and career fairs. Colorado’s workforce system also works closely with community and economic development organizations, schools and other government agencies to understand the programs and people that support businesses.

WORKFORCE RESOURCES AND REFERRALS:  Business services representatives analyze and provide resources and referrals for business needs in all things workforce, such as onboarding, employee retention, labor law, HR principles, employment policies and practice, performance management, workplace culture, upskilling, tax credits and financial incentives, writing effective job descriptions and more.

SCREENING & ASSESSMENTS: Employers can use assessments to determine the best candidates for a position, identify areas for improvement, and to determine promotions. Workforce centers can facilitate both general and specific skills-based testing and can perform first-level applicant screenings.

BUSINESS EDUCATION: Workforce centers offer a variety of ways to help business owners stay current on workforce issues, including hosting free in-person and virtual events on valuable topics such as best practices in workforce development. Business Services Representatives are subject matter experts on a variety of workforce-related topics and are available for formal presentations on a variety of topics.

HIRING & RECRUITMENT:  Workforce centers support hiring by marketing job openings, coordinating hiring events and job fairs, providing tools for the administrative side of hiring, and helping employers develop job descriptions and increase their applicant pool through skills-based hiring.
