The Walter E. Dandy Neurosurgical Society (WEDNS) is the Global Society for Operative Neurosurgery. We are dedicated to improving patient outcomes in neurosurgery worldwide. Furthermore, we seek to serve as a forum for neurological surgeons to collaboratively enhance the education of neurosurgical trainees and consultants, the teaching of neurosurgical anatomy, operative techniques, and partake in the development and distribution of guidelines for clinical decision making utilizing the best available science.
As a bit of background:
The organisation was founded by Prof. Saleem Abdulrauf, a consultant neurosurgeon in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. Since the inauguration of international student clubs in the early 2010s, the organisation has grown to encompass over 30 student clubs worldwide, with the UK being the 28th branch.
After months of preparation, we are now ready to welcome members! Members will benefit from a variety of privileges, including:
- Opportunity to apply for research projects.
- Access to webinars, courses and other events organised by the Society.
- Access to our mentorship programme.
- Potential access to global research initiatives.
- Opportunity to apply to join the Society's subcommittees, gaining a national subcommittee leadership role.
