Parents with COVID-19- This is a support group for parents who have tested positive for COVID-19, or have recovered from the virus. This group is created to support parents through the virus and the recovery period. This group will provide encouragement, motivation and strategies from persons who have successfully recovered. Parents who lost their jobs- This group is for parents that experienced job loss or are unable to work as a direct result of COVID-19. This group will explore the practical side of dealing with job loss by supporting parents with applying for Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Assistance Compensation.This group will also support parents with dealing with the emotions associated with unemploymen tand explore ideas around entrepreneurship and online opportunities. Parenting through the COVID-19 displacement period, from academics to daily interactions- This group is for parents who are interested in enhancing their parenting experience for both themselves and their child during COVID-19. Parents that participate are interested in results in a specific area of parenting that they are struggling with during this time. The unique feature of this group is its emphasis on the parenting commitment and actions produced from that commitment that will have parents experience less parenting-stress during this time. Parents who are Essential Workers- This group is for parents who are currently essential workers.This group will focus on Self-care strategies for coping with working through the pandemic. Group participants will learn about the definition and symptoms of compassion fatigue and how to care for themselves. The group will support parents with identifying their social support system, professional support system and have a plan to access them.
