The Statesboro Fire Department strives to ensure that all buildings and facilities within its jurisdiction are safe and up to current fire and building code. The Prevention Division conducts plan reviews, inspections of existing buildings, and new construction. This includes all events that must comply with state and local law and ordinances.

National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Life Safety Code 101, 2018 Edition, NFPA 13 Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems 2018 Edition, NFPA 70 Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace, 2018 Edition, NFPA 72 National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code, 2018 Edition, NFPA 96 Standard for Ventilation Control and Fire Protection of Commercial Cooking Operations, 2018 Edition, And all other NFPA Standards adopted by the State of Georgia, the rules and regulations, of the Safety Fire Commissioner (120-3-3), International Code Council, 2022 Edition, City of Statesboro Ordinances 2022.
