Shedd Aquarium
Museum Campus, 1200 S. Lake Shore Drive, Chicago, IL 60605
Entrance: Accessible Entrance – more details to come!

Registration Required (FREE, $5 suggested donation)

This workshop-style session will put the focus on exhibits, from space and flow, to interactives, to labels – and how to make them more accessible and inclusive. Come prepared to critique actual exhibits at Shedd, come up with ideas and modifications, and learn tips and resources for providing better accessible experiences for all guests.

Who Should Attend?
CCAC programs are open to the public. For this program, we recommend:
- cultural administrators from museums and spaces that create displays and exhibits
- exhibit designers, curators, and those who consider the user-experience in an exhibition
- those who officially (or unofficially) are responsible for accessibility at your organization

Workshop Accessibility
- The event space is accessible to wheelchair-users and visitors who need to avoid stairs.
- Open captioning and Assistive Listening Devices will be available.
- All CCAC events are scent-free; please refrain from wearing products with fragrance such as perfume, cologne and lotion.
- To request additional accommodations, please try to contact us at least two weeks in advance: ChicagoCulturalAccess@gmail.com or by calling Christena Gunther at 715-212-9140.

Suggested Donation
While CCAC programs are free, the $5 suggested donation helps to cover programming costs to ensure that CCAC’s mission is achievable and accessible to all. We'll accept cash and check the day-of, or you may donate online anytime! Donations to CCAC are tax deductible.
