2019 Ithaca Festival Art Contest Submission Form
The Ithaca Festival is seeking submissions from artists and graphic designers for our annual artwork. Our mission is to encourage the artist in everyone, and so each year we choose a design that best reflects our community and the theme for the year. This year’s theme “Full STEAM Ahead!” speaks to the recent boom in development and the local economy, and to the variety of local enterprises dedicated to STEAM; Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math. We are also celebrating the history of progressive technology in Ithaca from trains, planes and hydroelectricity to modern day renewable energy, cooperative economics, and high tech ventures. Shoot for the stars and send us your best ideas.

We are seeking submissions of concept art (a well-developed sketch). The Ithaca Festival team will select an artist to work with to develop the final graphic for the festival. The artwork should reflect our theme as well as be readable in a variety of sizes - small on our buttons, large on our banners, and as a fashion piece on our t-shirts.

Additionally, we are seeking submissions from youth 18 and under to create artwork for a special run of T-shirts and merchandise.

The Ithaca Festival welcomes and encourages all artists regardless of race, gender, ability, or means to submit work that truly reflects the beautiful diversity of our community.

Artists should submit work no later than Thursday, Feb 28. Fill out the following form which includes a place to share a link to your files (i.e. DropBox, Google Drive, WeTransfer, or your personal website). Alternately, submissions can be mailed to: PO Box 6713, Ithaca, NY 14851. Artists must submit no more than 3 other examples of their artwork/designs or a link to their online portfolio. Artists will also submit a short statement about themselves, their art, and the idea for their design. The winning adult artist will receive a $500 cash prize and the youth winner will receive $100.

Specs: Concept images must be in the following format: JPG, RGB mode, minimum 72 dpi, 1500 pixels. The Festival staff will work with the artist on specs for the final piece.

You must own all copyright to your design. We reserve the right to refuse offensive or inappropriate content. We will make no alteration to your design without your approval. We may make minor alterations, limited to resizing or cropping the design (if necessary).
