PCLS Youth Volunteer Application Form: 2023-2024
Qualifications:
Eligible applicants are students in the 9th grade or higher and at least 14 years old by August 31, 2023. Applications from family members of PCLS students and/or members of families who attended PCLS in the past will be considered; however, priority assignment will be given to the PCLS graduates and the 10th-grade students. Therefore, no acceptance guarantee can be given to applicants.  PCLS reserves the right to select suitable volunteers.

Assignments:
PCLS will assign duties based on accepted applicants’ qualifications as well as any relevant performances.   PCLS reserves the right to terminate the volunteer work if the applicant is unable to perform assigned duties in a satisfactory manner or is in violation of the student code of conduct.

To apply, the applicant needs to:

1.  Answer all questions in this google form.  Especially culture class TA applicants, provide detailed information under Special Skills.
2.  Receive an electronic copy of the application in the email you provided below.
3.  Forward the email application to Academic director (academic@pcls.org), Culture director (culture@pcls.org), and copy both parents (guardians).

Volunteer Agreement:    

The applicant named above commits to attend Chinese School every week throughout the school year. 

In the event that the volunteer must miss a class, the volunteer agrees to inform the academic and/or cultural director no later than the Friday before class so that a substitute can be arranged. This will be considered an excused absence. 

In the event of an emergency, every effort will be made to contact the academic or cultural director. A valid emergency will be considered an excused absence, provided the number of emergencies is not excessive. 

The volunteer will sign in each week, so that records of attendance can be kept. 

The volunteer also agrees to abide by the school’s Code of Conduct.

PCLS will provide a certificate of community service to all volunteers upon completion of the school year, provided that the volunteer had six or fewer excused absences and no unexcused absence.
