Welcome to Long Shadow Farm. If you are interested in having a lamb custom processed for you, or slaughtered on the farm, please fill out this request form to request a lamb. We can not guarantee we will have a lamb the size and configuration you require at the time of your request. We will get back with you on availability for processing, as well as the size and age of lambs we have available.

Any sheep older than 12 months are no longer considered "lamb" in agricultural terminology, and we rarely have lambs available over 12 months. We will not process lambs less than 4 months old.

We will respond to this request with an email that will verify if we can meet your requested date, quantity and size/type of lamb, as well as more details on what is needed on the day of slaughter.

We are unable to fully butcher lambs into cuts on the farm, and package them accordingly. This is a skill set we don't yet have. As we joke on the farm, we just can't find the lamb chops (that's not true, I know where they are, but don't have the right equipment to cut them cleanly)! We are able to slaughter on the farm and provide a whole carcass for use in roasting over a spit or otherwise. We can also process the lamb into primal cuts (legs removed, body cut in two). Any parts you want to keep are yours. If you are with us on farm, you can help with any and all of the processing and make sure you retain all the parts you want.

All lambs processed on the farm need to be picked up or taken home at the time slaughter is complete. We do not have storage facilities to store whole carcasses.

Select below if you want to have the lamb processed on our farm, or taken to a custom processor. We usually take our lambs to Arapahoe Meat Company in Lafayette for complete butchering of the meat. They can accommodate special cut instructions for you. Either you or Long Shadow Farm can set up the processing date based on availability at Arapahoe Meat Company. We will require a $100 deposit before we take the lamb in to them. If the deposit is not received, the lamb will not be delivered. Pick up is required at Arapahoe Meat Co within 7 days of completion, and they will call you. The balance is due at the time of pick up at Arapahoe.

On-Farm processing at Long Shadow Farm will also be subject to availability of the lamb you desire, as well as our schedule. We can accommodate Halal slaughter on our farm, and welcome your family to come and be a part of this wonderful experience.

Lamb Information

Please describe your requirements for the lamb(s) you are choosing to slaughter. Keep in mind that the age, size, and gender you want may not be available. To hold a lamb for you, we will send an invoice for a $100 deposit. The lamb will be reserved in your name once the deposit is received by Long Shadow Farm.

We will use the information below to look at our flock and find a suitable lamb for you, and we will respond with what we have available, and our best estimate on size. Our lambs average 80- 95 lbs as live weight, typically between 9 and 12 months of age. Intact males are typically the largest, but size can be effected by their age, if they were a single lamb or a twin or triplet and many other factors. Younger lambs are generally going to be smaller, and it is very rare we would ever have a lamb on the farm older than 12 months.
