Cornell on Fire: Eco Justice Solidarity Program Sign Up
Cornell on Fire is working with the Environmental Committee of the Student Assembly to get Cornell to accelerate their Climate Action Plan. The clauses include speeding up decarbonization, choosing a sustainability advocate as the new president in 2026, accurately publishing emissions reporting, providing more carbon friendly meal options, lessening energy usage around campus, improving housing & residential life sustainability, and prioritizing more productive discourse about sustainability between students and the administration. The resolution was introduced on Thursday Dec 5 and will be voted on Jan 23 from 4:45-6:30pm in the Willard Straight Hall Memorial Room, and we need your support. The more people that come, the less likely the admin are to ignore the recommendations. This is an opportunity to do something valuable with just your presence. We hope to see you there! Note that the Student Assembly meetings tend to run late, so after the vote, there is really no obligation to witness the rest of the meeting. Spread the message to everyone, especially the other environmental organizations you're involved in. Email Student Assembly Environmental Committee member Lani (lkl34@cornell.edu) with any questions, as she is happy to help.

I am coming to the Jan 23rd (resolution is voted on) meeting to show my support!

I understand that this is not a protest, and there is NO possibility of being punished for my attendance because the public is always welcomed to attend Student Assembly meetings & no breaches of university policy will happen. (Don't worry! :))

That said, I will be respectful during the assembly meetings because I am representing the Cornell on Fire community.

--> I am also going to invite my friends to come ;)
--> I will try to wear red or green to show solidarity ! This will be wonderful if The Daily Sun decides to cover this recommendation.

[Note that registration is not required, so feel free to invite all your friends. This just helps us see how many people are coming out to support!]
