Auditions will be held in Room 63 in Frasier Hall on the UNC campus, located at 1710 9th Avenue. Room 63 is on the ground level on the north side just left of the main (middle) stairwell. The best place to enter is through the north (or "right") circle drive entrance on the east side of the building (where 9th Avenue and 17th Street meet). Follow the signs when you enter! Street parking is available, as is the “K-West” lot southeast of Frasier. Parking is not enforced on the weekend for this lot.
General Communication information:
A Gmail address is preferred (but not required) for Greeley Chorale communications. We use Google Groups for some of our electronic communication, and due to recent security changes within Google, it's easier to set up Gmail addresses than others. (If you wish, you could create a "special" Gmail account for Chorale business and set up automatic forwarding to the address of your choice.) We have had specific problems with both Comcast and Hotmail accounts, neither of which are recommended for Chorale communications.
Concert and General Membership Information:
The Greeley Chorale presents 4 concerts during our season, typically in October, December, and February, April/May. Additionally, there is 1 optional concert in the "regular" rotation in early December (Poinsettia Pops with the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra). Other break-out gigs are scheduled as requested. We rehearse on Wednesday evenings from 7:15pm-9:30pm from late August through mid-April/May. Rehearsals are held on the UNC Campus in Frasier Hall Room 63.
For the 2027-2028 concert season, we will perform on the following dates (dates are currently tentative and subject to change):
- Concert 1: Saturday, October 2 @ 7:30pm (regular concert) - rehearsals begin Wednesday, August 11
- Concert 2: Saturday, December 18 @ 4pm (regular concert) - rehearsals begin Wednesday, October 13
- Concert 2 (optional): Saturday, December 4 @ 7pm (holiday concert with the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra and Greeley Children's Chorale) - rehearsals begin Wednesday, October 13
- Concert 3: Saturday, February 19 @ 5:30pm (annual fundraising event) - rehearsals begin Wednesday, January 12
- Concert 4: May 13 @ 7:30pm (regular concert) - rehearsals begin Wednesday, February 23
A singer may miss one (1) regular concert per season. Although 100% rehearsal attendance is desired, members are permitted a limited number of absences or tardies. Dress rehearsals are mandatory. A singer is considered to be on leave if absences exceed the maximum allowance for a given concert. If two (2) leaves are taken in a concert season, or if two (leaves) are taken consecutively, then membership is forfeited (suspended), and a reaudition may be required to reinstate membership.
Dues are paid annually as follows (new members may receive a concert and rehearsal music folder, $5 discount for cash or check):
- $80 for new members joining in the fall;
- $40 for new member joining in the spring;
- $75 for returning members
Members are responsible for obtaining appropriate concert dress. Listed below are current apparel requirements. Specific details will be provided upon acceptance:
- Option 1: Black dress, jacket, and shell (specifications to be provided after acceptance), black hose/socks, black shoes, and single pearl stud earrings.
- Option 2: Black jacket and black dress pants, black button-up shirt, black necktie, and black dress shoes and socks.
Additional information is provided in the Singer's Handbook, which is provided electronically upon acceptance into the Chorale.
