2021 Port Townsend Marine Science Center BioBlitz
Join the Port Townsend Marine Science Center for our annual BioBlitz at the Fort Worden State Park! We will be using the iNaturalist app and website to help us as we venture out to all corners of the state park to find, photograph, and identify as many different species as we can.
The 24 hour BioBlitz will begin on May 1st at 10 AM. Note that the Fort Worden State Park does close at dusk, but opens at sunrise. (Just in time for some early morning birding!)

COVID-19 Safety and Guidelines
In accordance with Washington State's health regulations all participants are required to observe COVID safety protocols.
This means keeping your group number to 5 or fewer people, maintaining a 6-foot distance from participants not in your group, and wearing facial coverings/masks for the duration of the event. We will have someone stationed at the PTMSC museum portico to answer questions and help with identification. We ask that groups stagger themselves and wait patiently, so we can work with a single group at a time while maintaining social distancing.
Let's keep our community healthy and safe while we venture out to photograph and ID the critters of Fort Worden!
Can you attend?
Yes, I will be attending the BioBlitz in person!
No, but I would like to be involved in the event by identifying the photos which are uploaded to iNaturalist.
How many people, including yourself, will be in your group?
Please provide an email for your group so we can send updates about the event.
What part of the park do you plan on making observations in? Note that parking within the State Park requires a Discovery Pass. There is free parking NEXT to PTMSC in the Cablehouse parking area, by the parade grounds, and at North Beach.
