Creative entrepreneurs look at the world around them and see it as a landscape ripe for creative intervention. By applying an interdisciplinary skillset, creatives launch businesses that have the power to change mainstream narratives and perceptions. Through artistry and passion, they bring fresh perspective and diverse engagement essential ingredients of any thriving cultural or economic ecosystem.
The event will be introduced by Allen Joines, mayor of Winston-Salem; moderated by Margaret Collins, Center for the Creative Economy; and include presentations and a panel discussion featuring Glenn Cantave and Idris Brewster, Movers & Shakers; Krystal Persaud, Grouphug; Mirelle Phillips, Studio Elsewhere; Kevin Clark and Imen Maaroufi Clark, Point Motion.
Presented by Wake Forest University, New Museum’s NEW INC in New York City, and more than a dozen local businesses and organizations as part of a yearlong partnership under the banner “IdeasCity Winston-Salem.”
