Reviewer Self-Nomination for PIAS 2025

Thank you for taking the time to participate in the 2nd Precarity and Instability in Academia Symposium! This is an ideal opportunity for new researchers to gain experience with reviewing in a real conference setting.

While the theme of this symposium may carry a touch of irony, the reviewing process itself is rigorous and will follow the same high standards as other top conferences.

  • Review Scope: You will review papers up to 2 pages long, in double-column format. Topics will range from AI applications to measurement techniques, methods for assessing precarity in academia, and frameworks for addressing these challenges.
  • Paper Assignment: In the worst-case scenario, you will be assigned up to 3 papers to review.
  • Double-Blinded Review: The reviewing process is double-blinded, meaning both authors and reviewers remain anonymous.
  • Timeline: We expect you to have some time available for reviewing in late October or early November.
  • Commitment: The workload will be manageable, but by filling out this form, you are committing to this responsibility, just as you would for any other conference.
  • Review Management: We will be using HotCRP for managing conflicts and reviews, so you can also participate in the Call for Papers if you are interested.
